GEMÜ Gebr. Müller Apparatebau GmbH & Co. KG is a group of companies based in Ingelfingen in Hohenlohe . GEMÜ specializes in valves for industrial applications. Today the group of companies employs over 1,900 people worldwide. The company is represented in over 50 countries through a network of subsidiaries and trading partners. GEMÜ is the world market leader in the field of valve, process and control technology for sterile processes. In 2016, the company received an award from the University of St. Gallen in the fittings and automation components segment.

history

Fritz Müller founded the company in 1964 and developed the first solenoid valve made of PVC . Four years later the company moved into its first own production building. The product range was expanded in parallel with the geographic expansion.

Ingelfingen -Criesbach

The company's headquarters are where the management and administration as well as parts of the production are located. The location was built in 1965 and has been continuously expanded since then.

Niedernhall -Waldzimmer

The GEMÜ Dome was built in 2009 and serves as a development and innovation center. Over 100 technicians and engineers work here on new products and customer-specific solutions.

Copper cell

The Europe production and logistics center located on the A6 in the Hohenlohe industrial park was completed in 2013. In June 2018, the new surface technology center was opened right next to it. The entire building complex now covers around 17,000 m².

Further production locations

In Switzerland , the company operates another manufacturing facility, which opened in 2012 clean room facility in Emmen. GEMÜ has further production sites in Brazil , the USA , France and China . In the summer of 2015, a new building complex was opened in Shanghai in which most of the 170 Chinese employees now work. The second largest GEMÜ company produces here for both the local and the world market. In addition, the plant should enable faster and better service for the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Products and Activities

GEMÜ produces diaphragm , seat and solenoid valves , butterfly valves , flow meters , positioners and position indicators as well as accessories and is especially known for customer-specific valve blocks made of stainless steel. Plastic products such as CleanStar valves, awarded the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Innovation Prize , or the first controllable single-use diaphragm valve show the variety of materials in the product range. The company has also been offering RFID products since 2016 . These are labeled so that they cannot be lost and can be managed via an IT infrastructure consisting of a mobile and a stationary software solution. A cloud solution and a retrofit solution for existing systems were recently brought onto the market.

The range of products is used in some industries, for example microelectronics and semiconductor manufacturing, the food and beverage industry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, the processing industry and medical technology. The company fulfills all legal requirements and has numerous additional certifications. For example, GEMÜ offers seat valves as so-called consumer goods according to the EU framework regulation 1935/2004, especially for the food and beverage industry.

The company also includes the Schlosshotel Ingelfingen and the Ingelfinger Fass wine museum .
