The Hannover Community Accident Insurance Association is a legally competent state corporation under public law with self-administration. The expenses incurred by the companies (cities, municipalities, districts) are apportioned according to the number of inhabitants based on the current update figures from the last census. In the case of self-employed companies and private households, the expenses are apportioned according to the number of insured persons in the year before the contribution payment. The employers have to submit a special annual report for accident insurance by February 1st of the following year for every employee in a calendar year who is insured in the accident insurance .

The meeting of representatives set the following contribution rates for 2019:

  • Independent cities (including Göttingen): 4.55 euros
  • Towns and municipalities belonging to the district: 1.79 euros
  • Counties: 1.88 euros
  • Independent companies and savings banks: 10.80 euros for every 100 working hours or part thereof
  • Households: 62.00 euros
  • Schoolchildren: 63.36 euros
  • Children in day care centers: 15.84 euros
  • Vocational school students: 47.52 euros
