Gabe York (born August 2, 1993 ) is an American basketball player . He is under contract with SIG Strasbourg .

career

York played basketball at Orange Lutheran High School in the US state of California and moved to the University of Arizona in the first division of the NCAA in 2012 . In the course of his four years as a player at the university, York gained a reputation as an accurate distance thrower and particularly triumphed in his final 2015/16 season, in which he was on the starting line-up in all 34 appearances and with an average of 15.0 points per game, the second best scorer the crew was. His performance against Stanford in early May 2016 when he hit nine three-point throws caused a stir. When he left the University of Arizona after the end of the 2015/16 season, he was in fifth place in the team's all-time leaderboard in the “three-point throws scored” category.

In July 2016, York signed a contract with Italian first division club Vanoli Basket Cremona after previously wearing the Charlotte Hornets shirt in the NBA summer league . He made six appearances for Cremona in the 2016/17 season, with an average of 4.3 points. In November 2016, York moved to the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League . For the team based in Erie (US state Pennsylvania ) he ran in 44 games and posted an average of 15.8 points.

During the summer break of 2017, York agreed on a contract with Bundesliga club Medi Bayreuth and took on a leadership role under trainer Raoul Korner . With an average of 14.2 points per match, he was the best Bayreuth scorer in the 2017/18 Bundesliga season, his 83 three-point throws placed him in the main round in fourth place in the league.

In early September 2018, he signed a contract with the NBA team Orlando Magic . At the end of the month he was removed from the squad again and from then on he played for the Lakeland Magic training team in the NBA G-League. He made 41 appearances for Lakeland in the 2018/19 game year and averaged 16.4 points per encounter. In April 2019, he moved to the Greek first division club AEK Athens before moving to SIG Strasbourg in France during the 2019 summer break .
