Gabriel Zakuani (born May 31, 1986 in Kinshasa , Zaire ) is a Congolese football player .

Career

Zakuani began his career in 2000 in the Leyton Orient youth team . In 2002 he joined the first team, which he was part of until 2006. Initially in the Football League Third Division (fourth division), the club made it into the now named Football League One (third division) in 2006. After these good performances he was signed by Fulham FC , but was not used until 2009 and was awarded again and again.

The first stop on the loan was Stoke City , to which he moved in 2007. In the first season at Stoke, the club was able to rise to the Premier League with Zakuani , but he was then loaned to Peterborough United . In the 2008/09 season Zakuani was under contract with Peterborough United, here too a promotion could be fixed, this time from Football League One to the Championship (2nd division). This time he was not loaned out at the end of the season, but committed directly by the promoted team for the season in the championship.

Internationally, he has played three times for DR Congo. He made his debut against Guinea in 2005 .
