Gabriela Breisach

Gabriela Breisach (born December 22, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian master goldsmith , jeweler , gemologist and jewelery expert .

Life

Gabriela Breisach's father was a dentist , her mother Franziska a master goldsmith . Breisach obtained her Matura at the Lycée Français de Vienne . In the family business founded in 1881, she trained as a goldsmith and silversmith . In 1978 she passed the journeyman's examination and in 1981 the master’s examination as gold and silversmith. Between 1974 and 1981 she completed gemstone and gemology courses at the Austrian Gemmological Society in Vienna and between 1978 and 1981 diamond courses at the German Gemmological Society in Idar-Oberstein .

In 1986 she received her apprenticeship as a precious object expert from W. Mican and L. Rössler in Vienna. In 1989 she passed her examination for "general, sworn and judicially certified expert" for the fields of jewelery, precious metals and gemstones and was registered accordingly. The Austrian Association of Valuables and Watches appointed Breisach as its President for the years 1989 to 2007 and again in 2016. In 1991 she became vice-president and appraiser of the Austrian Gemological Society. From 2007 to 2015 she was the chairwoman of the department of precious items, watches, costume jewelry of the regional association of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland of the main association of court experts.

Since 2019 she has appeared in the ServusTV series Bares for Rares Austria as an expert for the evaluation of historical and modern jewelry.
