Gabriela Jolowicz
Gabriela Jolowicz (* 1978 in Salzgitter ) is a German artist. She mainly produces monochrome woodcuts.
Life
Gabriela Jolowicz grew up in Salzgitter. She studied communication design for a few semesters at the University of Applied Sciences in Hildesheim. In 2002 she moved to the College of Graphics and Book Art , where she attended the illustration class of Volker Pfüller and Thomas M. Müller . Her diploma consisted of a series of twenty-four monochrome woodcuts that were published in book form by Christoph Ruckhäberle at the Lubok Verlag in Leipzig in 2008 . In 2010, the Emmanuel Post Gallery in Leipzig presented its master class exhibition. From 2007 to 2009 she was a scholarship holder of the Schuler Foundation in Wuppertal. In 2012 she won first prize in the international competition “Woodcut Today” of the Foundation for Art, Culture and Education of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg. She lives and works in Berlin.
