Gabriele Frechen

Gabriele Ute Frechen b. Ehrenfried (born October 12, 1956 in Lichtenau ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After completing secondary school in 1972 at the Rheinbischofsheim Progymnasium , Gabriele Frechen completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman by 1974 . From 1975 to 1977 she trained as a medical-technical radiology assistant and then worked in this profession at a hospital until 1980. In 1981, Gabriele Frechen began training as a specialist assistant in business and tax consulting professions , which she completed in 1984. From 1987 to 1988 she successfully completed further training as an accountant and finally passed the tax advisor exam in 1995 . Since then she has been working as an independent tax advisor.

Gabriele Frechen has been married since 1982 and has one daughter.

Political party

She has been a member of the SPD since 1982 and has been a member of the board of the SPD sub-district Rhein-Erft-Kreis from 1988 to 1992 and again since 2003 . Since February 2004 she has been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia, from which she resigned in 2012 after her inner-party defeat in the election as a candidate for the state parliament outside of the regular election. She is a member of the Berlin Network .

MPs

Gabriele Frechen has been a member of the city council of Hürth since 1989 and was chairwoman of the committee for the environment, public order, building and procurement from 1999 to 2004.

From 2002 to 2009 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2002 to 2005 she was deputy spokeswoman for the working group on petitions of the SPD parliamentary group .

From November 2005 she was deputy chairwoman of the finance committee and since December 2005 a member of the board of the SPD parliamentary group.

Gabriele Frechen has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency Erftkreis I. In the 2005 Bundestag election , she received 47.8% of the first votes . In 2009 she lost her constituency to Willi Zylajew in the federal election .

In the early state elections in 2012, Frechen ran as a candidate for the state parliament because she could not reconcile a new parliamentary mandate with her personal plans. At the general assembly of her district association, Frechen was defeated by her fellow candidate Brigitte D'moch-Schweren, who moved directly into the state parliament in the subsequent election. Frechen drew her conclusions from her defeat and resigned from the state executive committee of the North Rhine-Westphalian SPD and concentrated on her communal work in the Rhein-Erft district and in Hürth.

Public offices

From 1996 to 2002 Gabriele Frechen was the deputy (honorary) mayor of the city of Hürth.
