Gabriele Gien
Gabriele Monika Gien (born January 11, 1962 in Munich ) is a German specialist in German and didactics .
Life
She studied to become a teacher specializing in German, art history and education at the LMU Munich . In parallel to her school service , she did her doctorate in primary school didactics and then completed her habilitation with a long-term study on the development of metaphorical competence in children and adolescents. At the University of Eichstaett -Ingolstadt she was from 2008 to 2014 Chair of teaching the German language and literature as well as Vice President for Academic Affairs before in October 2014 the interim President and since October 2016. President was appointed. Her daughter is the writer Anna Gien . She is married to the South African opera singer Laurence Gien.
