Gabriele Katzmarek
Gabriele Katzmarek (* 8. July 1960 in Marl ) is a German politician of the SPD and trade union secretary. She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013 .
Life
job
From 1976 to 1985, after completing her training, she worked as a chemical laboratory assistant . From 1985 to 1990 she was on parental leave and worked as a consultant in trade union youth and adult education. From 1990 she was a full-time trade union secretary and from 2001 until her Bundestag mandate she was district manager, first in the Karlsruhe district, later in the Rhein-Main district of the IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie .

Gabriele Katzmarek is married to the chairman of the SPD Mannheim , Wolfgang Katzmarek, and has two grown children. She is a member of IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie, Arbeiterwohlfahrt , Naturfreunde eV and regional associations.

In 1989 she joined the SPD. From 2002 to 2014 she was a board member and from 2010 chairwoman of the SPD local association Mannheim-Käfertal, as well as a member of the Mannheim-Käfertal district advisory board. In 2009 she was elected to the municipal council of the city of Mannheim, where she was labor market and economic policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group and a member of the parliamentary group executive committee. As a member of the Advisory Board of Youth Against AIDS , Gabriele Katzmarek supports an initiative initiated and led by young people, which carries out educational and prevention work at eye level.
