Gabriele Mueller

Gabriele Müller (born September 30, 1959 in Munich ) is a German local politician of the SPD and was mayor of the community of Haar in the Munich district from 2014 to 2020 .

Müller was born in Munich. When she was three years old, the family moved to Baldham . In 1966 she started school at the Brunnenstrasse primary school in Baldham, and after the fourth grade moved to the grammar school in Vaterstetten, where she graduated from high school in 1979. She then studied to become a teacher at special schools with a focus on schools for educational assistance and passed the state examination in 1987.

In 1990 she moved to Haar . After the birth of her first child and marriage, she co-founded the parent-child initiative “Bärenhöhle” in 1994. Their second child was born the following year. Since 2011 she has been the honorary chairwoman of the Haar Adult Education Center.

She entered local politics when she succeeded the local councilor in Haar in 2000. After the local elections in spring 2006, she was elected 2nd mayor. In 2013, the local SPD association nominated her as a candidate for the 2014 mayoral election. On March 16, 2014, she was elected mayor of the community of Haar. In the local elections in 2020 she was nominated again as a candidate for mayor by the local SPD association, but lost in the runoff election on March 29, 2020 to Andreas Bukowski from the CSU and then withdrew from local politics.
