Gabriele Barbara Neudecker (* 1965 in Salzburg ) is a screenwriter , director and film producer .

Life

She graduated from the Universities of Salzburg and Berlin with a degree in journalism and communication studies (with a focus on film) . She is a scholarship holder for video and performance at Nan Hoover at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts Salzburg , a student of the photographer Nan Goldin and a graduate of the Vienna Script Academy .

With the short film Freaky , shot in 2001 , she achieved an international success. The 30-minute film depicts the search for home based on the friendship between two Salzburg girls. Freaky received 18 awards and has been invited to over 100 festivals around the world. The film ranks 7th in the “Most International Awards Received 1995–2012” category and Austria’s sensational 6th place in the “Most Frequent Festival Screenings 1995–2017” category.

Neudecker has received many national and international awards for her films. She was also able to book prizes for her literature, photos and graphics. In 2003 Neudecker won the Rauris Literature Prize for her text Glas.Gebirge . The book Freaky / Glas.Gebirge - Two Cinema Stories was published by the Verlag des Literaturhaus Salzburg.

In 2004, Neudecker founded the script workshop with Veresa Radosawljewitsch with branches in Salzburg, Rijeka, Cologne, Trabzon and Banja Luka. From 2008 to 2012, the script workshop, under the artistic direction of Gabriele Neudecker, presented the spec_script Award - Austria's largest award for young film writers .

In 2005 Gabriele Neudecker was invited to the international script meeting eQuinoxe in Vienna with her film project ... then I started killing Bog from 150 European scriptwriters.

In 2011 Neudecker founded the film production company Pimp the Pony Productions in Salzburg. The first full-length film production deserter! with the international title Glorious Deserter was premiered in Paris in April 2012 and was nominated for the Prix ​​Anna Politkovskaja . In November 2012 the film was awarded the “Price of a 'special mention'” by the international jury at the International Film Festival Signes de Nuit 2012 in Paris . In 2012 and 2013, Glorious Deserter received invitations to over 20 film festivals. During World Festival Houston 2013 was a deserter! the only Austrian entry shown in the competition as a US premiere and awarded the Platinum Remi Award “Best Docu-Drama 2013” by the international jury .
