Gabriele Stein
Gabriele Stein (born July 25, 1941 in Tilsit ; † March 6, 2020 in Tübingen ) was a German English student .
Life
From 1961 to 1968 she studied at the University of Tübingen (English Philology, Romance Studies, Philosophy); with periods at: Faculté des Lettres, University of Dijon (1963/4), Westfield College (1965), University of Perugia (1966), University of Paris (1966–1967). After receiving his doctorate in 1971 as Dr. phil. In Tübingen she was Professor (C4) for linguistics of English in Hamburg from 1981 to 1990 . From 1990 to 2006 she was professor for English at Heidelberg University .
Her main research interests were lexicology (lexical semantics, word formation, phraseology), lexicography, grammar of the English language and history of the English language.
