Gadarich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gadarich ( Gadareiks ) was a legendary king of the Goths who is said to have lived around the 2nd century.

He is only mentioned twice in Jordanes Getica . Gadarich was about the fourth king after Berig to rule Gothiscandza . His son Filimer is said to have led the Goths south. The historicity of the Gothic Origo gentis , to which the story belongs, is, however, very controversial.
