Gaji Akhmedovich Abashilov
Gaji Akhmedovich Abashilow ( Russian Гаджи Ахмедович Абашилов ; * 1950 in Sogratl near Gunib , Dagestani ASSR ; † March 21, 2008 in Makhachkala ) was a Russian journalist and politician.
Abashilov studied at the University of Dagestan. From 1975 to 1991 he worked for the Komsomol . From 1991 to 2006 he was the editor-in-chief of the weekly Molodezh Dagestana before becoming head of the local television company for WGTRK in January 2007 . Since 1999 Abashilov was also active as a local politician.
On March 21, 2008, he was shot dead in front of a shop in the Dagestani capital, Makhachkala , for reasons that were not yet clear .
