Gail Ross

Gail Ross is a Scottish politician and a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

Ross grew up in the Scottish northeast in Reiss and the nearby town of Wick . In the meantime she lived in Glasgow and Edinburgh . Ross studied Marketing and PR Management at the University of Glasgow ; later English studies and psychology. She is married and has one son.

Political career

In a by-election in 2011, Ross was elected to the Highland Council for the SNP in the Wick constituency. In the regular council elections the following year, she held her mandate.

Ross served for the surrounding constituency of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross , Rob Gibson . When he did not run for the Scottish parliamentary elections in 2016 , Ross was nominated as his successor. Despite a lower share of the vote, Ross defended the mandate for the SNP in front of the Liberal Democrat Jamie Stone on election day . In the Scottish Parliament, Ross is a member of the Equalities and Human Rights and Rural Economy and Connectivity committees .
