Gaius Marcius Figulus (Consul 64 BC)
Gaius Marcius Figulus came from the Roman family of Marcier and was 64 BC. Chr. Consul .
Life
Perhaps Gaius Marcius Figulus was born as Minucius Thermus and adopted into the Marcier family. In any case, the history of Cassius Dio shows that his father led the same prenomen Gaius .
Figulus' career up to his consulate is unknown. He achieved this in 64 BC. Chr .; his counterpart was Lucius Julius Caesar . The next year Figulus helped the speaker and then consul Marcus Tullius Cicero to fight the Catilinarian Conspiracy , which was heading for a political upheaval . On December 5, 63 BC He agreed to the death sentence for some captured members of the Catilinarians. After that he probably lived a few more years at most.
A son of Figulus was probably 43 BC. Admiral Lucius Marcius Figulus testified .
