Gaius Sulpicius Galus (Consul 243 BC)

Gaius Sulpicius Galus came from the Roman patrician family of the Sulpicians . According to the testimony of the Fasti Capitolini , his father also carried the prenomen Gaius and his grandfather the prenomen Servius .

In the final phase of the First Punic War , Galus officiated in 243 BC. As consul ; his counterpart was Gaius Fundanius Fundulus . According to an assumption by the ancient historian Friedrich Münzer , Galus could have had Italy as a province, but nothing is known about his activities during his consulate or about his other life.
