Galéran V. (Meulan)

Galéran de Beaumont († around 1191 before Acre ) was Count of Meulan , as such he was also called Galéran V. de Meulan .

He was the eldest son of Robert II de Beaumont and Mathilde of Cornwall.

As early as 1183, his father participated in the government of Meulan County. He married Margerethe von Fougères ( House Fougères ). The marriage remained childless.

He participated as a vassal of the English king Richard the Lionheart in the Third Crusade , on which he died during the siege of Acre .

His brothers also died before his father. Therefore, the county of Meulan fell to the French crown after his death in 1207 .
