Galeria Fundana

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Galeria Fundana was the daughter of a Roman senator in the praetoric rank and the second wife of the later emperor Vitellius .

All that is known about Galeria Fundana is that her father was a praetor and that she married Aulus Vitellius around the year 60 at the latest, who became emperor in 69. She had two children by him: an older daughter, Vitellia, and a son, born around 62/63, the younger Vitellius .

In the year of the four emperors she saved the life of her relative Publius Galerius Trachalus , a confidante of Otho .
