Kaleburnu or Galinoporni ( Greek Γαληνόπορνη ) is a municipality on the Karpas peninsula in the north of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus . The municipality is located in the İskele district of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . The place had 333 inhabitants in 2011.

Kaleburnu has been a Muslim village since the 16th century, where mainly Greek was spoken. This Greek name Galinoporni has often been translated as 'silent prostitute', but in the local dialect it means rather 'silent morning'. Only Turkish Cypriots have lived there since 1931. While Galinoporni still had 352 inhabitants in 1891, the population grew to 836 by 1960. In 1958 and 1964 the place served as a reception center for refugees, but was not affected by the deportations and refugee movements of the civil war. From 1964 to 1974 it belonged to the Turkish enclave Mehmetçik / Galatia . Since then, the population has decreased continuously from 543 in 1978 to 377 in 1996 and 351 (2006), finally 333 (2011). Since 1983 the place belongs to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The place became known through archaeological finds, for example from the Galinoporni Cave I , where ceramics from the Bronze Age were found, so-called red-on-white goods, but above all through the hoard of Kaleburnu-Kraltepe / Galinoporni-Vasili .

The village school was restored in 2013 with funds from the European Union.
