Galium incanum subsp. creticum is a subspecies of the plant species Galium incanum of the family Rubiaceae (Rubiaceae).

features

Galium incanum subsp. creticum is a perennial upholstery perennial or dwarf shrub that reaches heights of 2 to 5 (7) centimeters. The plant is grassy. The basal, non-flowering shoots have short, roof-tile leaves. The leaves are short, spiky, dense, rough-haired, matt and have a transparent tip up to 0.3 millimeters long. The inflorescence is cylindrical and has few flowered, short-stalked partial inflorescences . The crown is more or less cup-shaped. The corolla lobes are 1.5 to 2 millimeters in size, white and barely pointed.

The flowering period extends from June to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 66.

Occurrence

Galium incanum subsp. creticum is endemic to Crete . The subspecies grows in the Lefka Ori and in the Dikti Mountains in hedgehog cushion heaths at altitudes of 1500 to 2200 meters.
