The Gallagher Knob is a small mountaintop in East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the southern part of the Prince Charles Mountains, it rises at the western end of Mount Cresswell .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1958 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . At that time the mountain was used by scientists for navigation. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after Peter B. Gallagher, chief diesel generator set mechanic at Mawson Station in 1971.
