Mount Cresswell is a 1,289  m high, elongated and domed mountain with a small cone-shaped peak at the western end in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises 40 km north-northeast of Mount Dummett in the southern part of the Prince Charles Mountains .

It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 during an overflight as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it on July 4, 1961 after George R. Cresswell, aurora explorer at Mawson Station in 1960.
