history
In 1077 a local noble family is mentioned with "Chuonrat de Gaginenpach", which died out in the 12th century. The Catholic branch church of St. Laurentius is essentially late Romanesque (12th / 13th century). It was remodeled in the 17th century. The church was a place of refuge when a battle between Austrian and French troops took place on September 1, 1796 at Kastlberg. The 1818 with the Bavarian Gemeindeedikt established rural community of Heubach was on 1 January 1978 in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria incorporated to the municipality Rohrbach an der Ilm. The historic Crescent Madonna was destroyed in a fire in the church in Gambach in 1994.
