The Gambia United Football Club was a football club from Bathurst , the capital (which was renamed Banjul in 1973 ) of the then West African British colony of Gambia .
history
The club played in the top league in Gambian football and was a founding member of the league in 1940. In the final of the first cup competition in 1952, Gambia United and Augustians Bathurst faced each other. Gambia United won the final, which was played on July 5th at the Box Bar Stadium , 2-1. They also won the championship of the 1952/53 season.
It is not documented when the association was dissolved.
