Johanna "Hanni" Hüsch (* 1957 in Neuss ) is a German journalist and has been the head of various ARD foreign studios for many years and works for the ARD capital studio .

Life

Hanni Hüsch was born in Neuss in 1957 . Her father is the politician Heinz Günther Hüsch . In Neuss she first attended the Rheintorschule and later the Marienberg high school. She studied history , political science and German at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . After completing her degree and doing an internship at the Rheinische Post , she went to Burundi . She was doing obstetrics in a mission station there .

In 1984 she moved to Hamburg . In 1984 and 1985 she volunteered at the NDR before moving to the ARD subcontracting department in Hamburg. She was then head of the service of the NDR television magazine DAS! .

Afterwards, Hüsch switched back to ARD, where she worked in various positions. First, in 1991, she took over the management of the ARD supplier editorial department as well as representing the correspondents in the ARD studios in London and Tokyo . Between 1994 and 1999 she was an ARD correspondent in London, from where she moved to the ARD capital studio in Berlin . Between 2002 and March 2005 she was also a member of the board of the federal press conference .

She then took over the editorial management of “Wirtschaft und Ratgeber” at NDR in July 2005. From July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2012, Hanni Hüsch was head of the ARD studio in Washington. From July 1, 2012, she was head of the International and Current Affairs department at NDR. From January 2015 to December 2018 she was the director of the ARD studio in London. On January 1, 2019, she moved back to the ARD capital studio in Berlin, her successor in London was her predecessor Annette Dittert .
