Annette Dittert (born December 3, 1962 in Cologne ) is a German journalist .

Life

Annette Dittert studied political science , philosophy and German at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Free University of Berlin .

Between 1983 and 1985 she was a freelancer for the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1984 she also worked as a reporter, editor and presenter at Sender Freie Berlin . In 1992 she switched to Westdeutscher Rundfunk , where she was responsible for the concept and editorial management of the WDR media show Parlazzo . From 1995 to 2001 she was deputy director of the ARD morning magazine, which she also moderated for a time. In addition, Dittert took on representation in the WDR studios in Moscow and New York . From July 2001 to July 2004 she reported as correspondent and studio manager for ARD in Warsaw. In 2004 she received the Hanns Joachim Friedrichs Prize for her reporting on Poland .

From 2004 to 2006 she was on filming trips to India, China, Africa and the USA for the multi-part documentary film series Adventure Luck . As an author, Dittert was responsible for the development and conception of the series, which was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize and the Audience Prize of the Marler Group in 2006 and was subsequently nominated for the International Emmy Award of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences .

Between 2006 and 2008 Dittert was the correspondent and studio manager of the ARD studio in New York until she switched to Norddeutscher Rundfunk as a correspondent and studio manager in London on August 1, 2008 . From summer 2009 to September 2010 and again from April 2012 to December 2014 she reported on British life in her video blog London Calling for tagesschau.de . At the beginning of December 2014 she announced the end of her work as a London correspondent for ARD. Since September 2015 she has been working as a writer for ARD. On January 1, 2019, she took over the studio management in London for NDR , succeeding Hanni Hüsch .

In December 2019 she was named "Political Journalist of the Year" by Medium Magazin for her Brexit reporting.
