Gandaš

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ganda ( m Ga-to-du-uš (reading uncertain), m Gan-DAS, m Ga-ad-da, Gandasch, Gandiš) was after the King List A , the first ruler of the Kassite dynasty of Babylon . He ruled for 16 years, his successor was his son Agum I. maḫrû ("the elder"). It is disputed whether Gandaš already ruled Karduniaš or was the progenitor of the later ruling dynasty. Landsberger holds the name for Indo-Aryan and assumes that it might simply mean "king". Landsberger assumes that Muršili I. Gandaš installed as king of Babylon. The assumption cannot be based on any written evidence.
