Passage graves Tostrup north and south

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The passage graves Tostrup north and south (also called "Sønderholm sogn SB 28, SB 120511-28" and "SB 27, SB 120511-27" - Danish Tostrup Jættestuer ) are about 40 m apart, west of the hamlet of Tostrup in Himmerland in the Nordjylland region in Denmark . The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems , which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form can be found primarily in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands.

The megalithic systems of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) originated in the Neolithic between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr. Tostrup is one of the few undisturbed villages that still look similar to what it did 120 years ago. All businesses are still there and there is a ford through Hasseris Å that is still in use.

The north-east-south-west oriented passage grave lies in a field in its round hill about 2.0 m high and 20.0 m in diameter. Five bearing stones of the off-center corridor are still present. The approximately 8.0 m long and 2.5 m wide chamber consists of 14 bearing stones and is well preserved apart from the missing cap stones. The chamber was restored in 1949/50.
