Ganzi Mugula

Ganzi Mugula (born July 24, 1979 in Namirembe ) is a Ugandan swimmer .

Mugula, who works as a computer technician at Stanbic Bank in Kampala , is the nephew of 1956 Olympic participant Benjamin Nduga . Before he started swimming in 1999, he was active as a 400-meter runner. In addition to three All Africa Games, two Commonwealth Games and two other world championships, Mugula also took part in the World Swimming Championships in Shanghai . He was also part of the Ugandan team for the 2012 Summer Olympics , where he acted as team captain and standard bearer . His participation in the Olympics secured a wild card from FINA , which he had previously waited twelve years for.

In London he started on the 50-meter freestyle course. There he retired as fifth of his prelim and finished with a time of 27.58 seconds, which meant the equalization of his Ugandan record, the 53rd place in the final classification. In 2012, the 1.78 meter tall athlete weighed in at a competition weight of 65 kg.
