The Gardner Nunatak is a 1670 m high nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the group of Yee-Nunatakker it rises 9 km west-southwest of the Tollefson-Nunatak .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1968. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1988 after Robert N. Gardner, USGS cartographer who between 1973 and 1974 was involved in survey work at Cape Crozier on Ross Island , at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and at Palmer Station .
