Garmhausen is a village in the rural community of the city of Wildeshausen in the Lower Saxony district of Oldenburg . The Garmhausen peasantry has 15 residents.

geography

The place is about 8 km south of the Wildeshaus city center. ER belongs to the so-called rural community Wildeshausen surrounding the core area . Garmhausen is bounded to the north by the Wildeshauser farmers 'association Bühren , to the east by the river Hunte and the municipality of Colnrade , and finally to the south and west or northwest by the Wildeshauser farmers' associations Denghausen and Aldrup .

history

The village is characterized by the former farm of the Heitzhausen / Garmhausen family. In 1999 the Evers family bought the rest of the farm, which they have lived in ever since.

Origin of name

The place name goes back to the ancient name of the Garmhausen farming family (Garmenhausen, Garmenhusen). By marriage, the Garmhausen family name changed to Heitzhausen around 1820. For centuries there was a Doppelhof Garmhausen in Garmhausen, which was merged under the name Heitzhausen after the said marriage.

Although Garmhausen belongs to the Protestant Oldenburg parish in the town of Wildeshausen, which is about 8 km away, the people of Garmhausen have been going to the Protestant church of the Protestant Diepholz parish Colnrade for centuries.
