Garth Risk Hallberg

Garth Risk Hallberg (born November 1978 near Baton Rouge , Louisiana , USA ) is an American writer .

Life

Hallberg grew up in Greenville , North Carolina . There he came into contact with literature as a 16-year-old boy at a writing workshop at Duke University . In the following years he began to write, Washington, DC and the scene there was very important to him. In 1996 he drove to New York City for the first time , a city that has since become his home. Hallberg completed his studies with a Master of Fine Arts from New York University .

Hallberg published his first book in 2007 and is still the author of articles and reviews in various US magazines such as The Millions . In his second novel, published in 2015, he deals with the 1977 blackout in New York City.

The author lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and two children .
