Garub
Garub is a spring , train station and ghost town in the ǁKaras region of southern Namibia .
The small town of Garub was founded by the German Schutztruppe at the station of the same name, which lies between Lüderitz and Aus on the Lüderitz – Seeheim railway line . This in turn bore the name of the abundant springs in the Namib , which were used to replenish the water supplies of the steam locomotives. Due to the proclamation of the diamond restricted area the place had to be left and fell into disrepair.
Today Garub is mainly known in connection with Namibian wild horses , which come to the drinking places in Garub and can thus be observed.
