Jean Capelle (born October 26, 1913 in Sclessin , Liège , † February 20, 1977 ) was a Belgian football player on the position of a striker .

career

Capelle was active for his hometown club Standard Liège between 1929 and 1944 . He made 267 games for Liège, in which he scored 252 goals.

National team

Jean Capelle made his debut for the Belgian national team in 1931 at the age of 17 years and 153 days . By 1939 Capelle played 34 games in which he scored 19 goals. He was in the Belgian squad for the 1934 World Cup and was used in the 5-2 defeat in the round of 16 against Germany . At the Football World Cup in 1938 , he was reappointed to the squad, but not used.
