Gary B. Kibbe

Gary Brian Kibbe (born January 9, 1941 in Los Angeles , California - † March 9, 2020 in Burbank , California) was an American cameraman .

From 1959, Kibbe worked in the so-called Mailroom at Warner Bros. He started his career in the film business as a camera operator in the late 1970s. In this role, for example, he worked on the action film Convoy . His first independent work as a cameraman took place in 1987 with the horror film The Princes of Darkness . This film also marked his first collaboration as chief cinematographer with director John Carpenter , and from then on Kibbe was responsible for almost all of Carpenter's subsequent films in this capacity. Kibbe had previously been involved in Halloween II and Big Trouble in Little China as a simple cameraman . Their last collaboration was in 2001 with the horror and science fiction film Ghosts of Mars . Kibbe last appeared as a cameraman in 2003.
