Gashaw Asfaw
Gashaw Asfaw ( Ethiopian ጋሻው አስፋው; also Gashaw Melese ; born September 26, 1978 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .
In 2003 he finished second in the Dubai Marathon , which he won the following year. He finished fourth in the Paris Marathon in 2004 and third in 2005. In 2006 he won there with his personal best of 2:08:03, and in 2007 he finished second.
At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he was still one of the first three pursuers of the leading Jaouad Gharib at km 35 , but then had to give up the race. At the 2007 World Cup in Osaka , he finished 14th.
When the Boston Marathon in 2008 he finished fourth.
