Gasthaus Rose (Untergruppenbach)

Former Gasthaus Rose in Untergruppenbach

The Gasthaus Rose is a historic inn in Untergruppenbach in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg .

In 1481 Götz von Adelsheim let Emperor Friedrich III. confirm the approval for a bath room , a bakery and an "open tavern" in his rule Stettenfels. Presumably, this tavern was already at that time the Gasthaus Rose, located below Stettenfels Castle , which for a long time was the largest private house in Untergruppenbach. Until the late 19th century, the "Rose" remained the only inn in Untergruppenbach with the right to lodge . A spring rises in the basement of the inn that was once used to brew beer and today still feeds a pipe well . The inn was in operation as such until the 1950s, and since then it has only been used as a residential building.
