The Gasverbund Mittelland AG ( GVM ), based in Arlesheim is a Swiss power company . As a national Erdgasversorgerin procured and transported to natural gas on behalf of its affiliated 15  local utilities and eleven direct clients in the Central Plateau and in the north-west Switzerland . The Mittelland gas network thus covers around a third of the national gas demand. The company was founded in 1962 as a regional gas supply for Basel-Mittelland.

The Mittelland gas network operates its own 397-kilometer high-pressure pipeline network in Switzerland and is also involved in external networks. 80.9 percent of the natural gas volume is obtained from Swissgas , 16.4 percent from Gaz de France Suez and 2.7 percent from the delivery group of GVS and E.ON Ruhrgas . In the 2016/2017 financial year, the company sold 11,337 GWh of natural gas and generated sales of 444 million Swiss francs.
