The Gauchachtalbrücke Döggingen is an approximately 800 meter long road bridge as a section of the federal highway 31 to cross the Gauchach valley . It connects the villages of Bräunlingen and Löffingen in the Black Forest-Baar district and in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district . Before the bridge was built, the B 31 passed through the town of Döggingen , which was reached from the southwest side via a steep ramp. Together with the Döggingen tunnel , the bridge forms the bypass for the village and thus shortens the east-west connection through the Black Forest .

The road alignment are two clothoids running in opposite directions . The span of the bridge is 50 - 80 - 4 × 100 - 85 - 75 - 60 meters and the supporting pillars overcome a steep transverse gradient of up to 7% with a difficult soil layer. That is why the pillars were founded as bored piles .

The construction of the second bridge, which will then take up the carriageway towards Donaueschingen, is to begin in 2021.
