The Gaugrafenburg Bretten (also: Burg Salzhofen ) is the rest of a hilltop castle at 220  m above sea level. NN on a steep mountain near the desert of Salzhofen, 1750 meters south of the town church of Bretten in the district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was probably built by Kraichgaugrafen in the 11th century. Excavations took place from 1933 to 1935. The stump of the keep and the remains of the wall of the former castle are still preserved.
