Kvåle, who competes for Røldal IL, competed in junior races until 2016. In February 2013 he became Norwegian junior champion over 15 km freestyle in Lillehammer . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty , he won the bronze medal with the relay. He also achieved 45th place in the 10 km freestyle and 17th place in the skiathlon . He ran his first race in the Scandinavian Cup in January 2016 in Östersund , which he finished in 24th place in the 15 km mass start race. The following month he made his debut in Oslo in the World Cup , finishing in 48th place in the 50 km mass start race. At the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow , he finished sixth in the skiathlon and fifth in the 15 km freestyle. In the 2018/19 season he achieved ninth place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup with four top ten placements. After third place over 15 km freestyle at the FIS race in Gålå at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he took his first World Cup points in Lillehammer with 15th place in the skiathlon.
