Gavin Fisher

Gavin Fisher (born August 30, 1964 ) is a British engineer and former chief engineer of the Williams Formula 1 team.

Live and act

Fisher studied mechanical engineering at the University of Hertfordshire (then Hatfield Polytechnic) and graduated with top marks.

He joined Williams in 1989 after having worked for Ricardo Consulting for some time . A few months after him, Adrian Newey joined Williams and Fisher worked with him until Newey joined McLaren in 1997 . Fisher, his student, was promoted to chief designer and remained so until 2005. In September 2004, he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and had to undergo surgery for a broken pelvis. The engineer Mark Loasby took over Fisher's duties and designed the Williams FW27 .

Fisher retired into private life after quitting his work for Williams.
