Gebhard von Mehring

Gebhard Mehring , from 1867 von Mehring , (born April 3, 1798 in Belsenberg ; † May 15, 1890 in Schwäbisch Hall ) was a Wuerttemberg evangelical clergyman and politician.

After attending school and studying Protestant theology , Gebhard Mehring began his professional career in 1818 as a master's degree (teacher). After that he was an assistant to his father, who was superintendent in Langenburg . In 1822 he became pastor of Langenburg, from 1828 to 1831 he was the dean's administrator and from 1831 to 1845 then dean. In 1845 he finally became prelate and general superintendent in Schwäbisch Hall . On March 25, 1873, Gebhard von Mehring retired.

The general superintendents of the Evangelical Church were officially privileged members of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament . That is why Gebhard von Mehring joined the state parliament in 1845 after his appointment in Hall. He held the office until his retirement in 1873. From 1851 he was a member and, in the end, chairman of the library commission and the petitions commission.
