The Memorial Chapel St. Emmeram is a Grade II listed church building in Munich district of Bogenhausen , the St. Emmeram of Regensburg is consecrated in St. Emmeramsmühle in Oberföhringer district of St. Emmeram is.

history

The memorial chapel was built in 1866 by the owners of St. Emmeramsmühle and was intended to commemorate the St. Emmeram pilgrimage chapel, which was demolished in 1820 about 200 meters further downstream .

In 1988 the chapel was badly damaged by a falling tree. As a result, the chapel was completely renovated and reopened with a festive service on September 22, 1991, the feast day of St. Emmeram.

The chapel consists of a single nave nave , at the southeast end of which an apse is built and a roof turret is attached. The two windows on each long side still have their original colored glazing.

On the main altar is a statue of St. Emmeram, to the right and left of him a baroque angel.

In the chapel there are also two pictures from the legend of St. Emmeram, which date from around 1650 and are the last remains of a cycle of originally 16 pictures.
