Karl Friedrich Memorial Church 2005

The Karl Friedrich Memorial Church in Karlsruhe is a Protestant church in the Mühlburg district .

The church was built in 1786 according to plans by Johann Friedrich Weyhing as a replacement for the dilapidated church, council and school house built on this site in 1719.

It was given the name Karl-Friedrich-Gedächtniskirche after an expansion in 1903. With this name change, the Margrave Karl-Friedrich von Baden was commemorated, who once approved and promoted the construction of the church and made the old organ of the Karlsruhe Palace Church available, which continued until 1810 was usable. During the Second World War , after a bombardment on December 4, 1944, the church burned down except for the tower. It was later restored under the direction of Gisbert von Teuffel .
