Gediminas Dalinkevičius

Gediminas Dalinkevičius (born September 3, 1946 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian politician and violinist .

Life

In 1962 he graduated from the Juozas Gruodis - Music Technology School and in 1968 the diploma study as a violinist soloist at the Music and Theater Academy of Lithuania . In 1972 he worked at the composers house as director, in 1975 at Lietuvos nacionalinė filharmonija as department head and deputy director. In 1988 he founded the Kaunas Chamber Orchestra and directed it as an art director and conductor . In 1992 he directed the international orchestra “Solisti Baltia”. In 1995 he worked as a sub-department manager in the Kaunas District Administration . From 2000 to 2001 he was a member of the Vilnius City Council . From 2000 to 2004 he was a member of the Seimasand Chairman of the Human Rights Committee . In 2006 he headed the Artūras Paulauskas Foundation.

From 1998 he was a member of the Naujoji sąjunga , in 2003 of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .

He is married. He and his wife Dalia have daughters Eglė, Dovilė and Indrė and their son Vytis.
