Stanislovas Gediminas Ilgūnas (born March 29, 1936 in Kantališkiai near Sasnava , Marijampolė district , Lithuania ; † May 8, 2010 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian dissident, historian and politician, member of the Seimas , honorary citizen of the Jonava district (since 2000).

Life

From 1960 to 1968 he studied distance learning at the Kaunas Business School and from 1968 to 1976 journalism at the Faculty of History and Philology of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1951 he was active in the anti-Soviet movement and was arrested with his father for helping the partisans. From 1968 to 1990 he headed the sub-department of Jonavos Statybos trestas in Jonava and was active in regional studies. From 1990 to 1992 he was a deputy in the Lithuanian parliament.

He was awarded the order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas 4th class .
