Geert Wellens
Geert Wellens (born January 30, 1983 in Herentals ) is a Belgian cyclist with a focus on cyclocross .
Wellens was three times Belgian cyclocross champion: 1999 in the youth class and 2001 in the juniors and 2010 in the elite riders without a contract with a UCI team . In the U23 class, he took third place in the national championship in 2004. With the victory in the U23 race in Gieten 204, he achieved success in a competition on the international calendar. At the 2007 Military World Cup he won the silver medal.
Geert Wellens is the younger brother of Bart Wellens , who has already won two cyclocross world championships.
