Geest Sheffel

The Geestscheffel was a measure of area and sowing in the North German Geest areas .

  • 1 Geestscheffel = 200 square rods (hamburgers) (1 rod = 16 feet ) = 0.42047 hectares
  • 1 Geestscheffel = 1 acre (Prussia) = 116.4 square rods (Prussia)

Comparison: Area for 1 bushel of simple arable land = 256 square rods = 0.538203 hectares
